The fishing is Fair. Aggressive jigging with flashy lures has been producing the best. Ice on the west side is day by day. Ice: 0-18″ Best Baits: Nightcrawlers, Shrimp Best Lures: Rainbow Mepps Spinners, Silver Kastmasters
Fishing is Good right now. Trout are very active just in time for the Derby on the 7th and 8th. Ice: West Side:0-2″, East Side: 4-10″ Best Lures: Silver Kastmaster, Daredevils, Pink Jigs Best Baits: Nightcrawlers and Mealworms
Lake Hattie is still wide open with ice around the edges near the boat ramp.
Ice is 1”-4”. Hattie has a wide variance in thickness and quality of ice today but was capped. A couple of fisherman where brave enough to venture out by the dam and boat ramp which had around 4” of ice. Reports from the rest of the lake varies from 1”-3” all the way up to upper lake along the shore but not enough for us to venture out a verify today. Looks like a good start for now but needs some more cold.
Hattie was about 40% open maybe a bit more. There are 3 separate open areas; from the the West end all the way to just past the point, some in the narrows and by the old boat ramp. You can find fishable open water if you are looking for it. Dam and main boat ramp are still locked in ice.
Lake is wide open and fishing has been fair. Better if you can catch a day with less white caps, which has been hard the last couple weeks.
Lake is 98% open and boat ramp was clear of ice this morning (but not free of 3′ white caps). Only ice I saw was on dam at the north end and shoreline.
Fishing has been Fair Ice is between 3″-9″ with the thicker being where wind has pushed sheets on top of each other. some nice perch coming out this week. Pink and green jigs seem to be the trick tipping with wax worms. Hattie Derby is Jan 4th & 5th and tickets are available at the store now. $35 for adult, $5 for youth(under 14)
