Wheatland Reservoir #3

Description

Wheatland Res. #3 is located north of Laramie and east of Rock River along Fetterman Rd.  When full, it is the largest reservoir in the Laramie area, reaching close to 4700 acres, but it rarely sees that much water.  This reservoir is renowned for producing both large trout and some large walleye making it a hotspot for people to try their lake.  Being that it is so large with little structure to find, fishing can be very difficult, but well worth it when a fish decides to bite down.  Be aware of the brutal winds that happen on an almost daily basis out there, especially in the winter months!  The road out there can also become treacherous during both winter and springtime due to being snowed in and slick with rain, respectively.
